Workshops

Following the successful May 2006 Launch Workshop in Vienna, the iGSE has conducted three specialised workshops to enable an in-depth discussion of several topics:

  • In August 2008, a workshop on Matching Novel Trace Analysis Technologies with Environmental Signatures and Indicators from Nuclear Proliferation Activities was held in Darmstadt/Germany in cooperation with the Interdisciplinary Research Group Science, Technology and Security (IANUS) of Technische Universität Darmstadt
  • In June 2008, a workshop on Atmospheric Transport Modelling of Radioactive Noble Gases was held in Hamburg/Germany in cooperation with the Max-Planck-Institut für Meteorologie (MPI-M) Hamburg
  • In May 2008, a workshop on Remote Environmental Sampling for Nuclear Safeguards was held in Luxembourg in cooperation with the ESARDA Working Group on Verification Technologies and Methodologies

The final workshop Matching analytical sensitivities with proliferation signature concentrations in the environment took place 2-4 November 2009 in Vienna, with the goal of discussing the feasibility and integration of the techniques researched since 2006 while also featuring new methods and expertise.
